Now it's time to head out to the transmitter on Augustus St in Fall River
The short unlit, un painted tower at the end of the street.
The ATU at the bottom of the tower
The tower going through the roof of the ATU building!
A look at the ATU building, note the tower coming through the roof!
Looking down the path to the tower.
As you head down Augustus St to the dead end where the tower is located,
you would think the transmitter is down at the tower.
Well, suprise, it's actually a ways back in the middle of the street.
In a unique setup, rival to what you may see in Tampa, FL.
The WHTB sits between two houses half way up the dead end street. How
did they get the transmission line from the building to the tower?
If you guess buried, you'd be wrong!
Yes, they are leasing space from the electric company and the RF feedline
is strung along the telephone poles!
Here is the pole at the end of the street, where the RF feedline goes
down underground, out to the tower.
The RF tuning pieces inside the building before the long coax run.
The "transmitter" row, where the present main and standby transmitters
sit.

The backup Gates transmitter
WHTB has kept all their old transmitters in here too, although none
of these actually work. Here is the ITA
And a look at the very old Raytheon!
