WAMU 88.5 Washington, DC


The radio tower at American University in Washington. Home to four FMs, three of which are regularly in the tops of the ratings.


The tower is about to go through a major renovation, so here are pictures before that happens.


Looking towards the top of the tower.  The top 2 bay silver antenna (Dielectric) is 95.5's backup, the three bay facing
away from the camera is 103.5, the two bay near the bottom is 102.3, and the 6 bay facing the camera is 88.5.

In 2019, WAMU installed a new full power backup at this shared site with three other FMs.


This site is used by WETA 90.1, WGTS 91.9, WAVA-FM 105.1. WAMU now has an aux into the master antenna.
