WSAR 1480 Fall River

In the front lobby of the WHTB & WSAR studios in Somerset.

The main on air room for WSAR. If you look carefully, you can see the transmitters through the glass.

The production room

The newsroom.

Looking down the "main" hallway at WSAR/WHTB. The WSAR transmitters, on the left, and the studio window on the right.

WSAR's main Nautel Ampfet transmitter

The antenna and audio metering panels.

The old Harris MW-5 transmitter (now a standby)

The engineering racks at WSAR.

Down another hallway, near the door to the towers are the racks with the satellite receive gear and the AM tower phasor.

The two tall towers of WSAR in Somerset

Looking at the bases of the two towers from the field. The view in this general neighborhood hadn't changed much in years, until 2009 when a
new neighbor moved in...

The two 500' cooling towers of the Brayton Point Coal power facility. Looks like the Nuclear Plant from the Simpsons, but it's coal instead.
(And these towers had to be constructed "detuned" to the 1480 array here...)

The base of one of the two towers.

The ATU system at this tower

The base of the tower. (With the Crouse Hinds tower lighting box on it.)
