On June 1, 2011, a massive F3 Tornado hit Springfield.
The Tornado started in West Springfield and travelled eastward, directly
hitting
International Hall, destroying the original antenna and tower for WSCB.
Here is a photograph from June 25, 2011 of the badly damaged building.
You can see both bays twisted. What the image doesn't show is that
the bays are actually bent and deformed.
The tower is also leaning at a small angle. Compare to the images above,
a bunch of other equipment on the roof is gone.
The watershops area of Springfield was one of the hardest hit areas
in the city.
At some point before November, 2011, WSCB replaced the antenna and tower.
Below are photos of the new antenna and tower.
Plus the new work done on International Hall.
